We are thrilled to announce that Furniture Clinic is now ISO 9001 certified.
This means that we have an internationally recognised standard for a quality management system (QMS). At Furniture Clinic we’re always looking to make improvements and ensure we continue to offer the best possible products and services. Having an ISO 9001 certification demonstrates that we have robust processes in place to meet statutory and regulatory requirements. We have now joined over one million organisations from 170 countries in applying the ISO 9001 standard to our QMS.
The scope of Furniture Clinic’s QMS is: “The design, manufacture and supply of cleaning, repair and restoration products for leather, fabric and wood to industries including furniture, automotive, clothing, handbag, luggage and other industries.”
Our ISO 9001 journey
It has been quite a journey, but a worthwhile one. We began our application back in 2019 alongside plans to grow the business and increase our efficiency, but we had to put it on hold during most of 2020 because of the Covid-19 pandemic. We did not need to make many changes to our already comprehensive processes and procedures, but we have had to become better at formalising them. Being ISO 9001 accredited has affected all staff throughout the business as almost every job falls within the QMS.
What next?
The work doesn’t stop here. We must continue to work to the same high standards and continually seek areas of improvement; and we will get audited on an annual basis to check that we are meeting the ISO 9001 standard.
Why ISO 9001:2015?
And finally, for those of you who are wondering why our certificate says 2015 and not 2021. This is because the latest version of ISO 9001 was released in September 2015 and this is the current standard.
