In this blog, we will take a close look at our Wood Floor Polish and discuss how to use it on old and new wood floors.
A Wood Floor Polish isn’t just something you should consider using to add a sheen to your floors. We’ve developed our Polish so that it not only adds an attractive shine, but it also offers protection to the floor, helping to prevent scuffing, scratching, and staining. It also contains additives to repair minor scratches on older floors and will restore the sheen to dull and faded areas of flooring.
So, a Wood Floor Polish can be so much more than just adding a simple shine to flooring, and in today's blog we discover what the product does, and how to use it.
This video shows you how to use our Wood Floor Polish and demonstrates it on a dark oak wooden board with a lacquered finish.
If you have or are planning to install a new wooden floor in your home or business, it should be polished as soon as possible, before anyone uses it.
Our Wood Floor Polish will give the floor a protective finish that does not alter the look or feel of the wood, and that will help to prevent wear, tear, stains, and spills.
Our Wood Floor Polish can also be used to restore older wooden floors too. It will fill in any micro scratches in the wood helping to even out and smooth the finish. If the floor has turned dull or faded, and Polish will also restore the sheen to those areas helping to blend them back in with the rest of the flooring.
Once the floor has been protected with the Polish, it will then add the same great protective qualities to the floor as it does with new flooring; helping the floor to repel stains and spills, as well as resisting scuffs and scratches.
Before using the Wood Floor Polish, clean the floor first using the Wood Floor Cleaner and Spray Mop, ensuring all dust and dirt has been removed.

Shake the bottle of Wood Floor Polish well and squirt directly onto the floor.
Attach a clean mop head to the Spray Mop (you can also use a regular microfibre cloth if you don’t have a mop) and spread the Polish evenly throughout the flooring. A good application method is to wipe the polish against the grain of the wood first, and then wipe it following the grain. This helps to ensure you cover the floor thoroughly with Polish.
As you apply the Polish the floor should look slightly wet, but not too wet so the Polish start to puddle. When you’ve covered the entire floor, leave it to dry for 30 minutes. The floor can be walked on after just 30 minutes, but we recommend leaving the floor overnight before moving any furniture back.
We suggest that you work in small, manageable sections, before moving onto the next area.
The finish does not need to be buffed or polished.
For maintenance, and to keep your wooden flooring looking great all year round, we recommend re-applying the Wood Floor Polish once every six months. For rooms less used, you can re-apply it once a year.
