Blot the area immediately with kitchen roll.
Never rub or scrub the stain.
Keep the stain damp with water.
Apply kitchen roll (lots) and place some books on the stain overnight. This will help absorb the stain.

Soak up as much of the red wine as possible using kitchen roll, or any absorbent cloth. When doing this, lay the kitchen roll on top of the stain and press it firmly downwards. Never rub the stain. Keep repeating this process to remove as much as possible.
If you don’t yet have the Red Wine Stain Remover, keep the stained area damp (with water) until the product arrives. Keeping the stain damp helps prevent it from setting, which makes it easier for the stain remover to work.
If you have an old, dried in red wine stain the product will still remove it; it will just require a little more work!
Spray the Red Wine Stain Remover onto the stained area. You’ll notice that as you spray it on it will instantly remove the red colour from the stain. This shows the product is neutralising the stain and beginning to work.
Using a Microfibre Cloth, gently agitate the area (which further activates the product) and spray a little more onto the stained area.
This process is all about loosening the red wine stain from the fibres of the carpet (or other fabric) so that it can be easily blotted out.
You can see that as the stain remover is sprayed onto the carpet, it instantly neutralises the red wine stain.
Immediately after agitating and applying the stain remover, place a Microfibre Cloth onto the area and apply firm downward pressure (the cloth will soak up the stain). Turn to a clean piece of cloth and do the same again. Keep repeating this until no more (or very little) liquid is being absorbed by the cloth.
Then place another cloth onto the area and put a heavy weight onto it (books are good to use). Leave this for an hour, or overnight, to absorb any residual staining.
At this point the stain should be gone. However, if you can still see some staining, then simply just repeat the above procedure until all the staining has gone.
It shouldn’t matter how old the red wine stain is, or what material it has stained, the Red Wine Stain Remover will always be able to remove the stain.
Once the stain has been removed, pour some warm, clean water onto the area and gently rub it with your hand or cloth. This is to remove any cleaning residues left in the carpet. Then using a clean cloth or kitchen roll, blot the area again to remove the water.
