Here are our top five care tips to help you keep your leather items (such as leather furniture and leather car interiors) looking their best and make them last a lifetime.
Whenever we buy something new, we always want to keep it in perfect condition and the best place to start is with prevention. Many new sofas and cars will often come with a care kit which includes a Leather Protection Cream, which we recommend using as soon as you receive your item. The leather protection cream will add a protective barrier to the leather that will repel stains and protect the surface from wear and tear.
Whether it’s new or old, as well as protecting your leather furniture, regular cleaning is a must. For a quick wipe-down, a damp cloth is enough, but typically furniture and car interiors will need a more thorough clean by a professional or using specialist cleaning product every 2-3 months to keep them in top condition.
Never use baby wipes, vinegar or any other 'home remedy' for cleaning leather furniture or leather car car interiors. Many of these products have chemicals and substances in them that can cause drying, cracking or colour loss.

To prevent colour fading and damage to the leather, try to avoid heaters and direct sunlight.
Heat can cause the leather to dry, resulting in cracking. The best way to prevent drying is by cleaning and protecting your leather item every 2 – 3 month. Our Leather Protection Cream not only protects the leather from stains but will condition it too.
Admittedly, this is a bit of an odd one but natural oils from the skin, as well as oils from moisturisers, can damage the leather and cause it to discolour and even crack!
Although protecting your leather will help, consider using throws or seat protectors. Where you rest your head, rest it on a cushion rather then directly onto the leather.
