Heavy Filler is a very flexible filler used for fixing scuffs, scratches, holes and any other damage in leather.
The product can be used to fix damage where a long lasting and durable repair is required as it moves and flexes with the leather. The filler can be used to repair damage to all types and colours of leather, and can also be used on any leather item, from furniture and car seats to jackets, accessories and shoes.
Once the filler has dried you can replicate the grain of the leather using our Grain Repair. This is simply applied onto the filler, replicating the grain surrounding the repaired area. Doing so allows the repaired area to blend in much easier.
For areas of cracking, we recommend you use the Flexifil. This is because the Flexifil is a self-levelling product, therefore it flows easier into the cracks, spreading out evenly and giving a much longer lasting repair.
Heavy Filler is available in black or white, but you can also change the colour of the white filler yourself, adding up to 10% Leather Colourant (matched to the surrounding leather). Using a coloured filler limits the amount of Leather Colourant required to cover over it once repaired. This will save time and reduce any possible texture difference from applying too much colour.

A hole in leather
After securing a ‘Repair Sub-Patch’ behind the hole, it is filled with the heavy filler.
The layer is dried with a hair drier, and reapplied until flush with the surface.
The filler is sanded smooth. Colour is then applied (in dots) to mimic the grain pattern.
The rest of the white filler is then coloured.
A final coat is sponged on and the hole disappears!
Instructional Videos
Watch our range of videos below to learn how to repair leather.
Q. How long does the Heavy Filler take to dry?
A. This depends on the thickness of coats applied.
We recommend applying several thin layers of filler, slowly building the filler up until it is flush with the leather. In repairing the damage this way, you can speed up the drying time to around 5 minutes per coat by using a hair dryer. If left to dry naturally you should allow roughly 1 hour between coats.
If you apply one heavy coat of filler into the damage, this will need to be left for 24 hours to dry.
Q. My leather has cracked; can I use the Heavy Filler to repair this?
A. You can, however, we recommend using our Flexifil for repairing cracked leather. The Flexifil has been developed for repairing areas which are considered high use areas. It is an extremely flexible paste which is best used on cracks, and areas which come under constant use and/ or high stress./p>
Q. Can I add a grain effect to the filler?
A. Yes, for best results we recommend using our Grain Repair. This is simply applied to the filler once it has dried and will replicate the grain, copying from the surrounding area of the repair.
Q. Is the filler sandable?
A. Yes, once the filler has fully dried, it can be sanded smooth to ensure a nice, flush finish to the leather. You should wipe this over with our Alcohol Cleaner.
Q. Can I use the Heavy Filler to repair vinyl or faux leather?
A. Yes, our Heavy Filler will work on all types of vinyl or faux leather. If you're a professional though, you will get better results using our Leather & Vinyl Weld. This is simply because this product has been developed to create a better bond with faux leather, creating a longer lasting repair.
Q. Can I use the Grain Copier/ Grain Pad with the Heavy Filler?
A. Yes, you can, however, it is quite difficult to achieve perfect results with this system. The Grain Copier / Grain Pad are more suitable for use with the Leather & Vinyl Weld. We recommend using our Grain Repair for use on Heavy Filler.
